Sophomores Joelle Lee and Christiana Li make handwritten cards and origami swans for cancer patients. They are part of the RM branch of the Kits to Heart organization, which delivers care packages full of cards, origami, and friendship bracelets to the sick. “My mom is a cancer survivor, so I naturally got into it,” Lee said. “I was told if your high school doesn’t have a Kits to Heart branch you can create one, so I did.”

Kaye founded the club, which is sponsored by AP Government teacher Bill Vicari, to provide an opportunity for students to discuss current issues and trends in American politics. I feel like theres a lot of tension because people dont understand whats going on, she said. [I started this club because] I wanted people to come together and sit down and have a discussion about politics. Its something that Im passionate about and I want to get other people excited about it, too.
