There should be no heads hung low in the Rocket locker room tonight. They should be held high for winning the division title. For winning their second regional championship in three years. For being a state finalist. For pushing forward until the very last minute.

Only one team ends their season with a win. Unfortunately, this was not the year for the Rockets for that.

RM was successful at holding possession longer in the second half, but were stymied by Blair at almost every cross or run. But looking ahead, even with a large senior class graduating, the future is bright for RM soccer.

And for one last time in the 2024 season: Vamos Roquetas.

After a second half with offensive pressure, the Rockets fall just short of the title. RM’s defense held strong against an aggressive Blair attack. The Rockets finish as state finalist after a historic playoff run.

Five minutes left in the game, Rockets keeping pressure on Blair’s defense. Blair got a yellow card near the midfield to force a turnover.

RM applies heavy pressure on Blair, the Blazers goalie has made numerous saves. RM looks to keep this pressure up for the rest of the game.

Snowdy makes a big leg save following heavy pressure from the Blair offense. This save gave the Rocket defense a much needed break from pressure.

Just three minutes into the second half, #10 on Blair got a yellow card.

40 minutes down in Baltimore as the Blazers lead 1-0 over the Rockets. After an early goal from Blair, RM was able to earn a few chances off free kicks in the last 10 minutes of the half but were unable to convert on any. The Rockets seemed to be keeping their back line deep in their half in the first frame to contain the Blazers quick play down the middle. Down one, RM will need to play through their midfield more consistently in the second half and connect on their crosses if they want to even it up.

Snowdy stepped up one vs one against to make a big stop with 15 minutes left in first half.

Soon after RM registers a shot on goal.

#19 on Blair scores off a goal to the right post during the 21st minute of the first half.

So far Solomon Snowdy has had one save. Blair has applied heavy pressure but the Rocket defense has been clearing the ball.
