Letters to the Editor is an addition to the Opinions section of The Tide. Readers of The Tide are given an opportunity to voice their opinions about any of the topics we cover in our articles or any issues they have with our articles. Anyone is able and welcomed to submit a Letter to the Editor, no matter their journalistic experience or writing skills. Correct formatting and writing quality are not important or required in any submissions of the Letters to the Editor.
Any subject that a reader finds important is going to have an impact on many other people, which is why we encourage readers to not shy away from submitting a letter. The purpose of these letters is to inform people and the community about things that should concern them. Readers are encouraged to share any and all responses they have to published and online articles.
The only request is that the letter submissions are written in a respectful manner that would not be taken offensively to Tide readers as the editors are responsible for the articles that are printed. The Tide opinions editors will consider all letter submissions to be published either as an online article at thermtide.com or in one of our monthly print issues.
Letters will be fact-checked, edited for clarity and if necessary, trimmed down, by the Opinions section editors. The opinions expressed are always the writer’s own.
A link to the google form to submit a letter will be provided at the end of all online articles published by The Tide at thermtide.com. QR codes can also be found on flyers throughout RM, as well as in the Opinions section of every print issue of The Tide. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact [email protected].
