Richard Montgomery football shut out the Kennedy Cavaliers on Friday night 30-0. Here are the key points from the game:

• The strong defense by the Rockets forced 3 turnovers in the win, including a crucial interception by senior defensive back Toussaint Rodgers, who returned it deep into Kennedy territory to set up the final touchdown of the game.
• Jhordan Greene had 165 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Notably, Greene broke a 53-yard score in the third quarter. The offensive line, led by senior Sebastian Romero, provided big holes for the Rockets backfield. Tylen Hebron had 48 yards and Gabe Gomez had 45 in the win as well.
• Spencer Silverstein shook off an early interception to throw two touchdown passes. He finished with 201 yards in the air in his second varsity start. Daniel Alexander and Jonathon Ortega caught the touchdown passes.
• The Rockets have outscored opponents 64-7 in the first two games this year. A great combination of offense and defense so far.

Next week, the Rockets are away against rivals Rockville High School. As requested by Coach Klotz, Rockville will be called “The School by the Woods” until RM’s victory next Friday.
