Looking back at the four years I’ve spent at Richard Montgomery, there’ve been a lot of hard, stressful moments, but at the same time, there’s been the same amount of fun as well.
In some ways, I think that stressing over school assignments and sitting next to someone new in class actually brought me some of the closest connections I’ve made. Even though studying for AP and IB exams was never super enjoyable, unwinding with friends and the feeling of freedom made it (at least a little bit) worth it.
As a freshman, I thought high school was some intimidating hurdle that I had to cross over to become a true adult, and once I did, that I’d have everything figured out. Now, I know that wasn’t true.
Honestly, I don’t know if I ever will have everything figured out, but I do feel like my time in high school has focused my vision for what I want to do in the future. It’s still a bit blurry, but I know what direction I want to start walking in.
