
At RMHS, a variety of STEM clubs are offered to students. These clubs inspire curiosity, encourage teamwork and provide valuable experiences for future innovators. Below are samples of STEM clubs offered to all students.
Bio Club is perfect for students fascinated by the living world. Members explore topics ranging from genetics to ecology through discussions and presentations.
Science Olympiad is one of the most challenging and rewarding clubs at RMHS. Students compete in events ranging from anatomy to engineering, enhancing their problem-solving skills and scientific knowledge. Team members collaborate to tackle complex challenges and compete at regional and state levels.
Team member and sophomore Hermela Belay, shares her experience.
“I enjoyed being in the Science Olympiad. I felt like through this club I was able to learn more about science while also still having lots of fun and making new friends. The people in the club are very passionate about science and I like how we all help each other prepare for events. I would highly recommend anyone interested to join. It’s a lot of hard work but we also have lots of fun,” Belay said.
For students interested in healthcare, Med Life provides insights into the medical field through guest lectures, volunteer opportunities and community outreach. It’s an inspiring environment for students aspiring to be doctors, nurses or other healthcare professionals, providing insight into real-world experience. Additionally, Med Life members are given the opportunity to participate in international service trips. Students can travel abroad to underserved communities, where they assist healthcare professionals in providing medical care, education and resources to those in need. These trips offer a life-changing experience, allowing students to apply their knowledge in a meaningful way.
Robotics Club, where innovation meets creativity, brings ideas to life. Members learn engineering and programming while building robots for competitions. The club encourages creativity and teamwork, offering students hands-on experience in solving real-world problems with technology. The club encourages teamwork and hands-on problem solving, allowing students to tackle real-world challenges through technology.
Reflecting on her experience, team member and sophomore Maggy Deng shares insight on her journey with the Robotics Club.
“I joined the Robotics Club this year, and I’ve had so much fun on the team, going to competitions and making new friends,” Deng said. Recently, the RMHS robotics team competed in the States competitions with their multifunctional robot.
Math Honors Society celebrates excellence in mathematics. Members participate in solving complicated monthly math problems, finding monthly math memes and providing tutoring to fellow students. It’s a community that fosters a love for numbers and logical thinking. RM Math Honors Society holds a tutoring session at JWMS every Wednesday after school.
Membership to these clubs are offered during RM’s annual club fair in September. Students are also encouraged to reach out to club officers for further information.
