The Richard Montgomery boys varsity basketball team defeated Wheaton at home in decisive form Friday night, 88-32. RM dominated in just about every facet of the game.
Samuel Chiza lead the team in scoring with a game high of 17 points and also played some amazing defense, repeatedly stealing the ball and contesting shots.
The Rockets shot the lights at home on the way to a 7-3 start of the season, and the Wheaton defense could not stop the fast-paced Rockets offense.
Even though the Rockets dissected Wheaton, Coach Breslaw thought they could have executed better. “We had too many turnovers and gave up too many offensive rebounds,” said Breslaw after the game.
Richard Montgomery will travel to Whitman on Tuesday. To ensure that the win streak continues, RM will be forced to cut down on turnovers, especially against a very physical Whitman team that excels in rebounding.
