Photo of the Day: Students take on the tech of theatre

Deep in focus, sophomores Sarah Howlett, Erica Saulsbury, Deepa Shanmugam, and Zoe Pascover (left to right) relay their advice on sound quality to freshman Cal Murphy (leftmost) who then relays it through the headset to students in the booth. The sound they are adjusting is the voice of an actor in Psychopoly, one of four One Acts plays to be performed at the 2023 One Acts Festival. But the seats in front of tech booth are good for more than audio awareness and- in Pascover’s case- playing Subway Surfers. “Sometimes there’s the opportunity to hang out with friends,” said Saulsbury. “And I love to get in a quick study!”. These students, and others, are a small part of the crew for the One Acts Festival, a yearly student-run, written and directed show that serves as a fundraiser for the Black Maskers Drama Association. The 2023 festival will be held on Friday, February 10th at 7pm in the RMHS auditorium.
