When students walked into math teacher Mr. Wainwright’s classroom today, they were greeted by his adorable, six-year-old daughter Piper. Piper enthusiastically claimed, “NO math allowed,” and enrolled her audience in ‘Magic Academy.’ Her effervescent and precious persona provided a much needed break to the Calculus students.

Students make their way to their buses after school on Sept. 20. Recently, some students have been having trouble finding their buses at the end of the school day. Bus maps are posted detailing where each bus is supposed to be parked, but often times, buses end up in different spots. This can be confusing for students, especially freshmen, who are new to the building. Because I have to go get my flute from the orchestra room, I have to walk, like, really far. And sometimes, my bus just isnt in the place it says it will be. It can be a bit of a struggle, sophomore Allison Wong said.

Photo Essay: Seniors acclimate to their last first week of school

Freshmen Gabriella Villegas, Keerthi Thentu, Isabella Langlee, Anthony Lau, and Selena Li talk to seniors Michelle Wong and Sophia Wu at the first IB Big Sibs meeting during 7th period on Main Street. The IB program arranges these meetings so magnet freshmen can learn general tips on how to succeed in the program, ask questions, and exchange contact information. I think it was definitely productive. The seniors were very beneficial. They definitely gave a lot of clarity to all the terms and lines of high school. So I think the advice was really really helpful. And Im definitely looking forward to the next Big Sibs meeting Thentu said.

President Joe Biden took the stage at the end of the event. Against a backdrop of Democratic Party volunteers holding campaign signs, he spoke about his new student debt policy, the IRA, and defeating the “MAGA Republicans” in the coming November midterms.

“People need to be aware of right-wing extremists, who are willing to fight for what they want,” Elly Shaw-Belblidia, “Democrat of the Year” and Chair of Maryland Democratic Party, said.
