As students tried out for spring sports last week, masks became optional for all student-athletes, coaches, and officials in all practices and competition events. Spectators are still required to wear masks indoors. MCPS seems poised to drop the indoor mask mandate for schools on Tuesday, March 8, but students have a variety of experiences and feelings with optional mask-wearing during this week’s tryouts.
